Accommodation

Living in there. How cool is that! All new undergraduates at Oxford should expect to be offered college
accommodation; the trend is not as uniform for graduate students so you should consult your offer of admission carefully and get in touch with your college if you are not certain what arrangements will be made. In their second year, undergraduates typically live out, although some colleges guarantee college accommodation —either on the main college site or in other college-owned buildings— for the entire duration of a typical three-year undergraduate degree. If you do need to find your own accommodation, then the Living Out Guide, an updated version which is published annually by OUSU, is an excellent resource. You can get a copy from your college JCR or MCR, failing which you can email the OUSU Vice-President for Welfare at welfare@ousu.org to request a copy. There is not a lot more that we can tell you that the Living Out Guide won't! Nonetheless, we hope you will find the quick overview below a useful introduction to student accommodation in Oxford.
