Acknowledgements

The first known drafts of the chapters contained in this Handbook were written in 2004. Marketa Weiglova and her team revised and pulled these together in 2005 and 2006, providing the starting point for the Handbook you now hold in your hands. Contributors included Katya Akoulinitcheva, Yuki Hanyu, Ziyan Huang, Mikhail Kizilov, Sau Wai Law, Siu Po Lee, Vaniah Ledgister, Caleb Liu, Dorothea Mueller, Becky Ng, Oliver Russell, Nisha Sriram, Esther Wilkins, Meng Xu and Clover Jinghua Ye. To them and all previous contributors, many of whom have remained unknown to us, we express our deepest thanks. This was their idea!

The publication of this Handbook is inseparable from the creation and growth of the International Students' Campaign. Ingrid Frater, OUSU Vice-President (Graduates) 2007-08, not only helped establish the International Students' Campaign but gave generously of her time throughout the year, finding scarce resources for us when we needed them the most. Tracey Wells at the Careers Service has been unceasing in her encouragement and support, while James Tibbert and his team at the International Student Advisory Service have given us invaluable help time and time again, for which we are deeply indebted. It is also difficult for us to overstate the value of the support we have received from Dr. Heather Bell, Director of International Strategy, who has more than once made room for us at the last minute in her busy schedule and always encouraged us in our endeavours.
